Enhancing Leadership Development Through Experiential Outbound Programs

Leadership Development Program

Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It’s about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others’ success, and then standing back and letting them shine. Chris Hadfield

Leadership experiential programs are structured in a way where the participants are challenged to apply their full potential and go beyond their comfort zone. The journey the participants go through in these experiential programs deliberate an environment of some Real-life situations with problem-solving activities, these activities can be a mix of Adventure, Team building, Assault challenges, or creative and engineering tasks.   When an individual is confronted and put under pressure his actions and team reactions offer opportunities to explore one’s own strengths and limitations. These behavioural influences could be the source of fresh perspectives and alignment to take new departures towards personal growth. This process of discovery happens through guided facilitation and introspection with the help of a facilitator.

The Leaders development program could be for

a) Emerging leaders

b) Mid-level management  leaders

c) senior-level management leaders (HOD)

d) Project leaders

Leadership cannot be defined in a nutshell, it’s an ongoing process of personal awareness, adaptability and growth. We could look at a few very important attributes essential in a leader

The above mentioned behavioural attitude helps drive a leader, of course, communication skills, technical experience, concepts and theories etc are the other tools to be polished.

Why do we  recommend experiential learning and outbound training programs

The Experiential learning programs are an effective way to Involve, Engage, Explore, Reflect, Evolve, Apply.

As we engage nature and quality of our evolving relationships with significant others, define and shape our identity as well as our relationship with ourselves. Definition of Self comes from relationships. It is through my relationships with myself, the world and the Universe that I discover myself, my patterns, my myths and my personal/limiting beliefs.
