Many of these valleys and mountainous stretches of Himachal are the most favored destinations for adventure treks and hikes.
Hampta is the eastern most pass on the Pir Panjal range which divides the valleys of Lahoul, Spiti and Kullu. This trek route is the shortest line between the Chandra and Beas rivers, and it was the favored route to approach the correlated valleys even before the road over the Rohtang Pass was constructed. Hampta Pass trek is surrounded by magnificent Himalayan peaks
The Chandra Tal, which means ‘Lake of the Moon’, is a popular destination for trekkers and climbers. It is confined in between the mountains at a lofty height of 4,250 meters and is one of two high-altitude wetlands of India. Chandra Tal Lake is just 6 kms away from the Kunzum Pass in Spiti and Lahaul district of Himachal Pradesh

Day 1 – Arrival at Manali –drive to – Jobra trek to Chika (3385 m) -3 hrs

Day 2 – Trek from Chika to Balu ka Ghera (3780 m) 5 hrs

Day 3 – Trek from Balu ka Ghera via Hampta Pass to Shea Goru ( 4280 m)7 hrs

Day 4 – Trek from Shea Goru to Chatru ( 4 hrs), and drive to Chandratal Lake (4300 m) and drive back to Chatru

Day 5 – Drive from Chatru to Manali ( 7 hrs drive ) Departure onward journey

Trekking Grade
These are subject to individual fitness levels and could differ from person to person.

Grade2: Moderate
The trek duration each day may span from 4 – 5 hours, but on some days, it may push up to 8 – 9 days It is slightly challenging, uphill and downhill, walking close to mountain views and walking through the beautiful mountainous forests. The elevation from 2500m to 4000m is considered grade 2.
