KASHMIR SNOW TREK (KASHMIR)

Popularly known as the “Paradise on Earth”, Jammu and Kashmir is world famous for its scenic splendour, snow-capped mountains, plentiful wildlife, exquisite monuments, hospitable people and local handicrafts. Nestled in the Himalayan, Pir Panjal and Karakoram mountain ranges are renowned for their natural beauty and gentle people. Jammu and Kashmir is dotted with the most beautiful mountain peaks, massive glaciers, splendid monasteries, blue lakes, rivers, forests, verdant meadows and tall pine trees.
Along with the undaunted beauty of nature, the valley of Kashmir has also emerged as a complete alley of adventurous activities like trekking, hiking and river rafting. With time as the mountain trails has been acclaimed as a safe destination, there has been a gradual increase in the number of adventurous tourists in the valley.
The white snowy mountains not only add to the adventure but also provide a beautiful scenery which help in inducing the hikers to climb up until the peak. The trekkers starting from the base camp will go through a meadow with tall pine trees at Budsheri in the icy cool weather to reach Trunkhol. With the availability of basic amenities, the Forrest huts will provide a shelter to the hikers for night stay at Trunkhol. The last spot of the journey is Gangabal lake and while walking the distance the explorers will set foot on the fields covered with snow, an ideal place for a snow ball fight.

Day 2 – Drive Srinagar to Naranag ( 3 Hrs) – trek to bodpathri – 5hrs

Day 3 – Trek from Bodpathri to Trunkhol – 5 hrs

Day 4 – Day trek to gangabal and return – 6 hrs

Day 5 – Trek from Trunkhol to Naranag (7 hrs ) Drive to Srinagar (3 hrs)

Day 6 – Transfer to Airport for onward journey

Trekking Grade
These are subject to individual fitness levels and could differ from person to person.

Grade 3 : Difficult
From an altitude of 4000m to 5550m is considered a strenuous trek or grade 3. Most of the trekking of Nepal is in grade 3. You need some previous trekking experiences and have decent physical fitness. Climbing and descending are very usual experiences for these types of trekking and you may have to cross small glaciers as well. This kind of trekking gives you an experience of a lifetime, has very beautiful walking surrounded by spectacular mountains
