KEDARTAL TREK (UTTARAKHAND)

Kedartal is a high alitude lake nestled in the Himalayas close to the Gangotri glacier. The approach to the lake is via massive boulders and one can see snow near the lake throughout the year. One highlight of the trek is that the views are breathtaking but the trail is pristine and still unknown to many trekkers.

Day 1 – Drive from Dehradun to Gangnani/Gangotri ( 8 hrs.)

Day 2 –  Drive Gangnani to Gangotri trek to Bhoj Kharak (3,200m-6 hrs )

Day 3 – Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak (4,270 m- 5 hrs)

Day 4 – Trek from Kedar Kharak to Kedartal (4,425 m-5hrs)

Day 5 – Rest day at Kedartal

Day 6 –Trek from Kedartal to Gangotri (8hrs)

Day 7 – Drive from Gangotri to Dehradun (8hrs)

Trekking Grade
These are subject to individual fitness levels and could differ from person to person.

Grade 1 Difficult
From an altitude of 4000m to 5550m is considered a strenuous trek or grade 3. Most of the trekking of Nepal is in grade 3. You need some previous trekking experiences and have decent physical fitness. Climbing and descending are very usual experiences for these types of trekking and you may have to cross small glaciers as well.
