DZONGRI TREK (SIKKIM)

Sikkim, located in the north-eastern region of India, is a small state with a big heart. Travelling across this Himalayan state is particularly highlighted by the dramatic contouring of the scenery from thick woodlands to colourful meadows to few barren patches to the panoramic views of the snowcapped mountains. Sikkim is a state that has often been called a “Traveler’s Paradise”. In fact, the Lepcha word for Sikkim is ‘Nye-mae-el’ which roughly translates to “Paradise”.
Dzongri trek is one of the most challenging treks in India, yet it’s the most exhilarating, bewitching journey you can take. Dzongri is almost fifteen thousand feet above the sea level. This trek will allow you to experience some of the most majestic and imposing grandiose peaks of Himalayas.
The a stunning and ultimate site from where you can get 360 degree spectacular panoramic views of the snow capped towering mountain peaks and hills. Dzongri View point is located at the altitude of 4250 meters on the top of the hill and offers awe inspiring and mesmerizing backdrop of the great Himalayan Range.

Day 2 – Trek from Yuksum to sachen (2175 m) 5 hrs

Day 3 – Trek from Sachen to Tsokha (2860 m) 5 hrs

Day 4 – Trek from Tsokha to Dzongri (3970 m) 6 hrs

Day 5 – Trek from Dzongri to Bakhim 5 hrs

Day 6 – Trek from Bakhim to Yoksum (6 hrs)

Day 7 – Drive from yoksum to Bagdogra Airport – for onward journey – 6 hrs

Trekking Grade
These are subject to individual fitness levels and could differ from person to person.

Grade 3: : Difficult
From an altitude of 4000m to 5550m is considered a strenuous trek or grade 3. Most of the trekking of Nepal is in grade 3. You need some previous trekking experiences and have decent physical fitness. Climbing and descending are very usual experiences for these types of trekking and you may have to cross small glaciers as well. This kind of trekking gives you an experience of a lifetime, has very beautiful walking surrounded by spectacular mountains. Above 4000m

Grade 4 : Strenuous
Above 5550m is known as grade 4 trekking route. There is high chance of AMS and you must be in a very god physical condition and previous experiences. Extreme conditions make it essential of good trekking experience as you will be trekking in very rocky terrain, crossing glaciers, and going through wilderness.
